The Institute

The Instituto Nacional de RemoÇão de Obstaculos e Engenhos Explosivos (INAROEE) was established by national decree in 1995 as the primary national organization responsible for mine action activities in Angola. Today the institute is administratively situated under The Ministry of Social Welfare Reintegration (MINARS). It has regional offices in 7 provinces. 

 

INAROEE coordinates humanitarian mine action operations in Angola and provides and facilitates humanitarian mine action operators with information on the presence of known and suspected minefields and unexploded ordnance.

 

Today, international support to INAROEE is facilitated by the UN Development Programme (UNDP. The Government of Norway, Sweden and Canada are the major donors.
